the dark background + the look in her eyes... that 2 things really makes it a beautiful portrait...

I gave up long ago painting love with crimson flow..
Ran out of blood and hope.. So I paint you no more..

i think that what makes this (for me at least) more that simply beautiful is the complete lack of hair in the photo...not facial hair but the hair on your head... it's just~ her face, her eyes, her expression... nothing to distract or take away from it. the dramatic lighting also makes this image stand out from so many of the portraits i've seen today~ lovely work. simply lovely.

Beautiful, i love the eye liner, and i really love the darkness of the background, and her lips make this such a wonderful picture!

This is really gorgeous. The makeup is really good as well as the lighting. I also like how sharply focused her left eye is, and how the rest is softer. Beautiful. <3

She looks pretty nice. The lighting is nice, also. And her lips! Great work!

I think that this portrait has a certain allure and gives the subject a human grace.

She's looking into image space, which helps keep inside the frame of reference, and the shadows increase the visual tension.

For a simple piece, this requires nearly no critique. However, a different angle of light might help the division between the skin and the darkness, for clarity.

Keep up the good work!
